How to Create a Wintry Christmas Themed Sensory Bin Your Preschoolers + Kinders Will Deck the Halls For

Hey, friends! I have something to confess: My tree is up, lights are on, wreaths are hanging and stockings are, too! Christmas is ON in our house… 🎄 What about yours? Do you celebrate it? What about in school? I loved teaching my students all about the season of giving, kindness, respect and gratitude. 💕

One of my favorite things to do at home with Aria (and in my former Kindergarten class) is sensory bins! A few materials you could use for any simple sensory bin activity with little ones in preschool, Pre-K or Kindergarten are:

Get some exciting sensory activities started in your class now with these stress-free ideas. Feel free to get creative by adding essential oils and various textures to your bins to give your students/little ones a complete sensory experience.

Key components of a thorough and well-designed sensory bin activity for preschool, Pre-K or Kindergarten include the following:

* Bright and colorful pictures

* Engaging steps

* Hands-on components +

* Extension opportunities

How can you plan your sensory bin activities and not be overwhelmed by the choices or materials?

  • Use the same filler/base numerous times or for a complete month

  • Rotate the filler and fine motor tools so children are interested in it each time

  • Store your fillers and materials in gallon-size Ziploc bags inside a large plastic bin

  • Rotate between paper and toy/sensory item activities
