How to Create a Fun Thanksgiving Themed Sensory Bin Your Preschoolers + Kinders Will Be Thankful For
Hey, friends! Now that Halloween has passed, Iβm SO ready to put up my Christmas tree and decorate the entire house BUT letβs give Thanksgiving some love, first. π¦ Thanksgiving is always a special time at home and in the classroom. I loved teaching my students all about the season of giving, gratitude, family and togetherness. π

One of my favorite things to do at home with Aria (and in my former Kindergarten class) is sensory bins! A few materials you could use for any simple sensory bin activity with little ones in preschool, Pre-K or Kindergarten are:
Sensory fillers like
dyed rice
dyed pasta
dry beans
pompoms and more
Get some exciting sensory activities started in your class now with these stress-free ideas. Feel free to get creative by adding essential oils and various textures to your bins to give your students/little ones a complete sensory experience.
Key components of a thorough and well-designed sensory bin activity for preschool, Pre-K or Kindergarten include the following:
* Bright and colorful pictures
* Engaging steps
* Hands-on components +
* Extension opportunities
How can you plan your sensory bin activities and not be overwhelmed by the choices or materials?
Use the same filler/base numerous times or for a complete month
Rotate the filler and fine motor tools so children are interested in it each time
Store your fillers and materials in gallon-size Ziploc bags inside a large plastic bin
Rotate between paper and toy/sensory item activities
Like what you see? Don't miss our Thanksgiving Sensory Bin Activity unit which includes all the above mentioned components and more with step-by-step directions on how to implement this fun activity. It also contains b/w options for all of the components, photos in action and more.
